MNBO: IntuloYane – My Newest Accessories Obsession

This is a fabulous line of clothes that I literally stumbled upon. The proprietor of MNBO: IntuloYane specializes in using the bright, bold and beautiful African fabrics to create unique designs of Shoes, Bags, and fashion Accessories. Minivah the creator and owner of IntuloYane is definitely one that feeds my obsession for all things African in fashion. Recently I got my hands on a pair of Fabulous Chitenge dressed Wedges, Clutch and Bangle set… and also a pair of Chitenge dressed pointy heels. And I want more of course.

also for Ngo and finally my wedges bracelets customise for Ngónya B customised heels for me still

What I love most about this line is her use of the various the textures, patterns, and colors of the African fabrics that creates very unique personalized pieces, to suit the feel and personality of each customer.

My customised clutch pumps

According to Minivah,

“The Aim of the brand is to help the modern day woman or man, identify with and embrace their culture while at the same time fusing it with contemporary western style and fashion.”

So I had a text-terview with her a few weeks back. Extracts from our BBM chat are pasted below. Also search for her products on facebook for more pictures and information on shipping and such.

The Sari my Way

{ Wore tights inside the sari instead of the traditional skirts}

On Sunday I decided to wear a casual Sari to my wedding rehearsal practice. I wasn’t planning on doing much dancing or moving around myself so it seemed like a supper good idea, unfortunately I ended up doing alotta errands and the hanging flap of fabric over my shoulder just wasn’t practical so I ended up tucking it in and making a mini tail. Either way it worked, and I felt good in it so…

Let me know what you think of my take on the sari.

{ From Left to right: Ng’onya, Me, Chilekwa, Mwenya and Mkhudzo after our networkout}

On Saturday a bunch of my girls and I attended the “Corporate Heelz” Network-Out event at Intercontinental. The idea was to have an hour workout session, with Towani Clarke of Kotuwa Designs ( She taught a Yoga Class) and then have a network session to meet other likeminded women.

It was a Great session I might say, didn’t think there would be so many people though, But glad there were. Got to meet Janice, who is the founder of corporate heelz, as well as a number of other professional women.

IchIlanga Mulilo and Matebeto Day

My nuptials are approximately two months from now, and things have been moving forward pretty quickly. I had my Ichilanga Mulilo/Matebeto recently… which is part of the traditional events leading up to the actual wedding ceremony. Was going to post this way back but got caught up, but for the benefit of those who asked to see, here are some of the moments from the day.

Gotta tell you, I did a lot of kneeling that day.  Seems like traditionally women spend too much time on their knees though. But since all this is more symbolic than anything, and I know its only bringing me closer to spending the rest of my life with the man I love, I have no issues doing it. Overall it was fun.

Mangishi Love Pre-Launch Mixer

Last year a friend of Mine led me to Kapasa Musonda’s studio and I was Blown away right from the begining. So I went to her show where she launched “Mangishi Love” her clothing/Apparel line and did a post.

Last weekend, on the 26th of April 2013, Kapasa invited me to her studio where she was having a small Pre-launch mixer for her 2013 collection for Mangishi Love, which is her clothing Line. Some Back ground here is that Kapasa Musonda is the creator of the Mangishi Love Clothing Line and in my opinion is one of the best designers in the country right now. My favorite part of her creation is the immaculate finish that the clothes have, which just give the look of polish and expense.

{ Totally Love this custom ML dress, I have been looking at this picture for 2 weeks straight }

So of course the mixer was fabulous, and Going with ma best friend Melody was a bonus since we haven’t spent that much time together. It was also interesting to see the fabulous ensembles that the patrons of the mixer put together. Unfortunately I didn’t get any pics of them.

I did manage to get the pictures of some of my favorite pieces though, so see below for that. But for now a little more on the line:

The Mangishi Clothing line is consisted of three parts

  1. Mangishi by Kapasa M. Which is the main line with ready-to-wear and contemporary pieces.
  2. ML Couture is the couture line. With high end designer pieces (this is my favorite by the way) that make bold statements.
  3. Gishi Love Collection which is the accessories line. These are custom made to the customers need

Harriets Bridal Shower

This past weekend was activity packed. Apart from doing my own wedding preps and preparing for the “unleashing The Kingdom” conference this coming weekend, I got to attend the bridal shower of a friend of mine Harriet. We met in University and she is marrying another friend called Levy, also met him in University. I think marriage is such a sacred and blessed union so of course I had to go there and give some support.

The event itself was just so much fun. The décor was gorgeous, and the venue used was a perfect choice and the food was just right.  And my favorite part of the whole event was the outfits. It’s always fun to see all those different takes on Chitenges. It’s a pity I was having so much fun I couldn’t takes pictures of everybody J but for those I did manage to take, am posting below. The bride herself was so beautiful… Jealous :)

I also had a ball catching up with old school mates, some who I haven’t seen in forever. Like since graduation. I simply cannot wait to have my event and I hope its filled with as much family and Love that I enjoyed here.

Wishing Harriet and Levy the Longest, happiest, most fruitful (yes loads of kids) marriage. And May God richly bless yah.
